Antibacterial modification methods for fibers and fabrics

The most widely used antibacterial modification methods for polyester fibers can be summarized into 5 types.

(1)Add reactive or compatible antibacterial agents before the polyester polycondensation reaction, prepare antibacterial polyester chips through in-situ polymerization modification, and then prepare antibacterial polyester fibers through melt spinning.

(2) Extrude and blend the additive antibacterial agent with non antibacterial polyester chips for granulation, and then prepare antibacterial polyester fibers through melt spinning.

(3) Composite spinning of antibacterial polyester masterbatch and non antibacterial polyester chips.

(4) Polyester fabric undergoes antibacterial finishing and coating.

(5) Reactive antibacterial agents are grafted onto fibers or fabrics for copolymerization.
